NATIONAL SIMULTANEOUS STORY TIME ACTIVITIES
In the lead up to National Simultaneous Storytime each class was involved in a creative activity based around the story of The Very Cranky Bear. Each class did a different activity so the library was a very busy place!

Anzac Day talks with Ken Duthie
On Tuesday 24th April Ken Duthie came to talk to all the children
about Anzac Day. It was fantastic to see how engaged and
interested everyone was in hearing what Ken had come to share
and looking at his fantastic collection of uniforms and other
artefacts.
Thanks Ken!

THE PRC QUICK REVIEW

This year we have had some keen readers reviewing books for us in our cosy PRC Quick Review corner.

These reviews are helpful to others looking for suggestions for good books to read and a great way to share information with each other.

You can read all the reviews on the Student Review page on the Library Wiki.

READING ATTITUDE SURVEY

Early in first term the Year 3-Year7's filled out a reading survey.

.

It was fantastic to see how strongly the students at

Marryatville feel about reading and how much they enjoy books.

In the library we have some posters on display which

show the favourite books, authors and

series of each age group.

These may be useful for students who are looking

for an author or series that they will like based

on the recommendations of their fellow students.

This information is useful to us in the library as it provides us with more details about how best to

meet the changing needs of the students and

cater to their diverse reading preferences.

NATIONAL YEAR OF READING

2012 is the National Year of Reading.

The logo for National Year of Reading is a 'Love 2 Read' flower. Each petal of the flower contains a word about what reading can make us do or feel; laugh, explore, cry, discover, feel, grow, question, dream, think, escape.

Part of the way we are celebrating the National Year of Reading is through the Premier's Reading Challenge. As the students finish the Challenge their name is written on their class flower.
