Book Week at Marryatville Primary School
Plans are still under development.
The following plans are in the pipeline so far-
  • Performance by Splash Theatre Company on the Book Week theme (whole school) Monday 20 August 9.30 and 11.10
  • Regent Cup - Year 6/7 Book Cup quiz Friday 24 August 11.00
  • The Book Shop. Each class will be allocated a budget to purchase books for the school library from a display from Pegi Williams Book Shop
  • Champions Read - Champions from the community will be invited to read favourite stories to classes.They will be interviewed and introduced by the Library Crew
  • National Year of Reading "Reading Hour" 25 August - a home and school activity - 10 minutes a day
  • Speed dating voting for best books
  • We will also look at our Champion qualities
  • Activities on the Book Week theme and shortlisted books
  • Competitions - Book reviews,
  • Book trailers

For teachers
Other teacher librarians have already prepared pages of information and activities about the Book Week theme, short listed books and authors and ideas for celebrating Book Week.
